Elizabeth and I are excited to welcome a baby boy! Garrison James Garnett was born at 1:10am on Wednesday, June 18th. He weighed in at 8 pounds 13 ounces and measured 21 inches. He arrived late, just like his parents. He is named from the town in New York where we were married. The origin is English and means protection. James is a prominent name in Elizabeth's mother's family and is the Anglicized version of Dimitri in Greek.
We were present for labor and were blown away as we watched him enter the world, take one deep breath and start screaming. Elizabeth announced the sex and I cut the umbilical cord.
We were in awe of Stephanie’s strength and grace as she delivered our beautiful son. She is doing well and left the hospital on Wednesday night.
Elizabeth, Garrison and I could not be in better spirits and eagerly await our discharge from the hospital on Friday morning. Garrison is the greatest gift we could wish for and we’re absolutely in love with him. After spending two weeks in Wareham waiting for his arrival we can’t wait to bring him home!
